Terms of Use

Lingobelle ("the app") is operated by Lingobelle Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17280099) ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using Lingobelle, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Lingobelle.

1. Who Lingobelle is for

Lingobelle is a space for women, and you must be aged 18 or over to use it. By creating an account you confirm that you are a woman and aged 18 or over. We may decline, suspend or remove any account at our discretion, including where someone breaches our Community Guidelines.

2. Your account is your responsibility

You are responsible for your account, your login details, and everything that happens through your account. Keep your details private. One account per person, and it must be genuinely you.

3. Interactions between members are at your own risk

Lingobelle is a place to meet other members, but we do not vet, verify, background-check or endorse any member, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any member, whether online or in person. Any conversation, friendship, call or meeting you choose to have is entirely at your own risk and your own decision. We give no assurance that any member is who they say they are. You agree that we are not liable for the words, actions, content or behaviour of any other member. If you choose to meet another member in person, we strongly encourage you to meet in a public place and let someone you trust know where you are going.

4. How you may use Lingobelle

Use it only for friendship, conversation and language learning, and only in line with our Community Guidelines. You must not, and must not attempt to: harass, abuse, threaten or harm anyone; post unlawful, hateful, sexual, explicit or distressing content; impersonate anyone; spam, advertise, sell, recruit or run scams; solicit or recruit Lingobelle's members onto another app, group, platform or service; collect or misuse others' information; copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, disrupt or attack the app; or use it for anything unlawful. You take full responsibility for your conduct and your content.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you create. By sharing content (profile details, messages, photos, voice notes, videos, posts), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and process it so the app works and the people you share with can see it. You confirm you have the right to share whatever you share, and that it does not break anyone's rights or these Terms. A conversation and its memory box belong to both people in it (see clause 9).

6. Translation and third-party services

Some content (such as profile bios and notes from the Lingobelle team) may be translated automatically by a third-party service. Private chats and posts are deliberately not translated. Lingobelle relies on third-party providers (for hosting, translation, video calls and email); we are not responsible for those providers' own services, and your use of features they power may also be subject to their terms.

7. Moderation, suspension and removal

We may, at our discretion and without notice, review, remove or restrict any content, and suspend or permanently close any account, for any reason we consider appropriate, including any breach (or suspected breach) of these Terms or the Community Guidelines. Serious matters may be reported to the authorities.

8. Subscriptions

Some features may require a paid subscription, billed and managed through the App Store or Google Play under their terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your App Store or Google Play settings. Prices are shown before purchase. Except where the law requires, payments are non-refundable.

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. When you do, your profile and account are removed, you no longer appear in Discover, and no one can contact you. Because a conversation belongs to both people in it, the friends you made keep the memory boxes you shared together, with you shown as a former member. If you want a full erasure of everything, including those shared memory boxes, email admin@lingobelle.com and we will deal with your request in line with applicable law.

10. No warranties

Lingobelle is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we give no warranties of any kind, and we do not promise the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that it will meet your expectations or be available at any particular time. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time.

11. Our liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, data, goodwill, opportunity or anticipated savings, or for any loss arising from the conduct of any member or any interaction or meeting between members. Where we are found liable despite the above, our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited or excluded under law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Your promise to cover us (indemnity)

You agree to compensate us for any loss, damage, claim or cost (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of Lingobelle, your content, or your dealings with any other member, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms and will tell you of significant changes. Continuing to use Lingobelle means you accept the latest version.

14. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These Terms are the entire agreement between us about Lingobelle. They are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
